Holt has asked me to share with you that the disaster declaration for
NJ came through
this afternoon. Individual assistance (to individuals and small
businesses) was
granted for Hunterdon,
Mercer and The
disaster number is FEMA-1653-DR I spoke
with FEMA this afternoon and they have not yet identified where the
walk-in
registration sites will be. However, people can register by phone or
the
internet. ·

is some basic information to give to your residents: Register
with FEMA using the toll-free number or the web
site.
1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or www.FEMA.gov.
You
will be asked general information about your income, insurance, and the
damage
to your house or business. Renters are also eligible to seek
assistance. You
will be given an application number,
which will be your reference number. Write it down, you will need it
frequently. A FEMA inspector will
call and arrange a visit to your
damaged property. In the mail, you will
receive a Small Business
Administration packet. Complete the application
whether or not you intend to seek a loan. The application will qualify
you for
many services and does not obligate you to borrowing anything. In fact,
depending on your income, it may immediately qualify you for a grant. If
