Taken from the Delaware
Valley News, August 27, 1998: "The town acquired the eight-acre parcel of Harrison Street in May under the state's Green Acre program. It was officially renamed Old Frenchtown Field at a council meeting in July. Throughout the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, the field was host to carnivals, dances with big bands, semi-pro baseball games and even Frenchtown high school's football team. The field had been part of the ceramics factory property." |
